Our Board of directors is now accepting applications for volunteers!

ACJMH is a growing organization that relies fully on volunteers to build our infrastructure and advance our mission. As a member of the Board of Directors, you would be responsible for helping support, assist, and advise our organization to carry out our mission successfully and sustainably. Responsibilities will include attendance and participation at regular Board Meetings (approximately two hours every other month), fundraising, recruiting volunteers and donors, and networking with others who may be interested in supporting Agave Center. We are fully volunteer run and expect our Board Members to actively contribute to the growth, development, and maintenance of our organization (anticipated to be an average of one hour per week). Job Description:

The purpose of the Agave Center for Justice in Mental Health (Agave Center) Board of Directors shall be to support, assist, and advise the Agave Center.  Each member of the board will play their own unique role in offering support, assistance, and advice.  Assistance may include the following:

  1. To work as a volunteer to grow Agave Center in accordance with its mission

  2. To assist in financial planning and fundraising

  3. To assist Agave Center in recruiting student interns, volunteers, deferred associates, eligible clients, and potential staff members  

  4. To advise and offer a larger perspective on all programs and future planning

  5. To help keep Agave Center abreast on a particular area of expertise


Expectations:

Members of Agave Center’s Board of Directors shall be expected to do the following:

  1. To sustainably advance the mission of Agave Center  

  2. To use their resources to help Agave Center serve its clients

  3. To share the work of Agave Center with others who might be interested 

  4. To be available for meetings with staff and volunteers as needed

  5. To provide fundraising and/or financial support for Agave Center


Meetings:

The Agave Center Board of Directors has regular meetings in July, September, November, February, and May.  Additional special meetings may be held as needed.
